Rare Vintage Canvas Over Cork Ship Salvaged S. S. Imperial Cobourg Sarina Life Ring! Touch up your room with this weathered hand-stitched canvas over cork and original rope life ring. This salvaged life ring will bring a vintage maritime touch to any room you hang it in.
This life ring was from the Imperial Oil Company tanker “Imperial Cobourg”. It was built in 1913 originally named “Imperoyal”. From 1947-1952 it was known as the “Imperial Cobourg”. In 1952 it was converted to a dry bulk carried then renamed “Starbelle”. It was scrapped in 1964 after being damaged in a storm on Lake Superior in 1960.
Written on one side – “S.S Imperial Cobourg” and “Sarnia”. It is an authentic stitched canvas over cork life ring with a rope handle. It has a diameter of 30 inches about 6.5 inches wide by 4.25 inches thick. The weight is 13 pounds.
This life ring is being sold in as-found condition. The original rope has not been replaced.
