This Authentic Great Lakes SS Authentic Great Lakes SS Kinsman Enterprise | Harry Coulby Life Buoy has a unique feature, the remnants of it original name Harry Coulby can be seen faintly on the opposite side. This straight deck bulk carrier Harry Coulby was mainly used to transport coal and iron ore. It her later days she grain and wheat. She was built by the American Ship Building Co., Lorain, OH in 1927. She was purchased in 1988 by the Kinsman Marine Transit Lines, Inc., Cleveland, OH after being out up to be sold for scrap. She was the second vessel in the Kinsman fleet to have the name “Kinsman Enterprise”, which had been owned and operated by the Steinbrenner family of New York Yankee baseball fame for almost a century.
It measures 30 inches in diameter 7 wide by about 3 inches thick and weighs 5.1 pounds. The both sides have lettering “SS Kinsman Enterprise” and “Harry Coulby”.
This life ring is being sold in as found condition. It may have loose or missing paint. It has only been wiped down for the pictures. There is a rope attached to the ring.
