You are looking at the Century Highway NO.1 Kobe Life Buoy! The vessel is a Ro-R0/Passenger Ship and was sailing under the flag of Panama. Ro-Ro is short for “Roll-on, Roll-off” which describes how products are loaded and discharged from the vessel. Kobe is located in Japan. The status of this ship is decommissioned or lost.
On the front of the lifebuoy are the words Century Highway NO.1 Kobe but on the back, there are no words. There is something different on the back, however! You can find something that is like a belt strap that when you pull it out there looks as though there was a place where you could put your identification card or whatever they had. Also on the inside of that strap is a small plaque that has some Japanese writing with the lifebuoy No. 859, P-430, and also the dates 77-1983.
This lifebuoy is being sold in as-found condition.
Center Diameter: 17″
