Antique Navy Lionel Compass (1919) with Oil Wick Chamber

While we’ve been in possession of Lionel Compasses from the second world war, this is the first time that we’ve been able to offer a Lionel compass of this age. The Lionel Train company switched their companies over from producing toy trains to navigational equipment to fill Navy contracts in 1919. The compass bears the mark of “U.S. Navy” and the date “1919”.

The Lionel Train company was the leading manufacturer for high quality toy trains for children in the 20th century. This is a unique piece of maritime and American history.
