Description
This vintage engine telegraph was salvaged from a working ship and made by J.C. Krohn & Son Ltd., a maritime instrument maker based in Bergen, Norway. Itβs a double-sided vintage engine telegraph with matching engine command faces on both sides β showing FULL, HALF, SLOW, STAND BY, and STOP in both ahead and astern directions. The handles are functional and still produce the original chime when moved.
This piece is in excellent shape for its age. The brass casing shows a natural patina, with minor scratches and wear from years of shipboard use. Both glass faces are intact and clean, with no cracks or chips. All mechanical parts are working, and the unit still rings when the handles are shifted.
Features:
- Double-sided faceplates with common telegraph commands for both ahead and astern directions
- Chiming mechanism: still rings when the levers are moved
- Heavy brass construction with visible wear and patina
- Manufacturer markings: Labeled βJ.C. Krohn & Son Ltd.β and βShip Norwayβ
Whether youβre collecting or decorating, this vintage engine telegraph is a fully functional piece of ship hardware with real maritime history. It makes a strong display piece and is ready for a second life off the water.
