Description
This brass nautical compass comes from Saura Keiki Seisakusho Co., Ltd., a well-known Japanese maker of marine instruments. We salvaged it from a working vessel. It features a solid brass housing with a rounded top and a built-in handle for easier handling. The 3-inch handle has some surface scratches, but it still works well and adds to the character of the piece.
The brass has aged naturally, showing a patina that gives it a worn, authentic look. Inside, the compass has a 4-inch glass face. It’s filled with fluid, and the dial is easy to read. The lettering remains sharp, and the compass moves freely.
This is a solid piece for collectors, decorators, or anyone who enjoys real ship hardware. It looks great as a display and also makes a useful reference tool. While the compass works, we’re selling it mainly as a vintage decorative item.
