Description

This brass binnacle compass came off a salvaged vessel and still shows signs of its time at sea. The compass sits inside a solid brass housing with a twist-and-lift hood for access. It has some patina and grime, but overall it’s in excellent shape and ready for display.

The compass card is clear and easy to read, with directional letters and degree markings still visible. The light chamber, used to light the compass during night navigation, remains intact. Its top lid is aluminum — a non-magnetic material often used in nautical instruments. A handle on the side makes it easy to carry, and a hook on the back lets you hang or secure it in place.

This is a clean example of a functional, well-made brass binnacle compass — a solid choice for collectors or anyone interested in authentic ship gear.

Features:

  • Solid brass housing with twist-open hood
  • Readable compass card with clear markings
  • Intact light chamber with original aluminum lid
