Description
This Marine Optical Prism Viewer is a salvaged brass instrument designed for shipboard navigation and controlled viewing. It features a solid brass housing, a large domed viewing lens, and a vertical eyepiece that moves straight up and down to adjust viewing height.
The unit also includes a rotating filter disk with three lenses that range from clear to darker shades. As a result, you can adjust light levels and reduce glare under different conditions. The selector is marked and rotates as intended. In addition, the internal prism or mirror system redirects the image, so operators can view instruments or reference points from different angles in tight spaces.
Because of its compact size, this piece fits well on a desk or shelf. It also works well in display settings. Therefore, it fits naturally in offices, lake houses, or collections focused on marine instruments.

Authentic salvaged piece with visible patina, surface wear, and oxidation across the brass housing. The finish shows consistent age from use. All lenses are present, including the rotating filter disk with three lenses that range from clear to darker shades.
