This authentic brass engine order telegraph came directly off a working ship. Originally produced by the Bendix Corporation out of Brooklyn, New York. During WWII, Bendix Corporation manufactured only aeronautic instruments and equipment for U.S. military aircraft.
Engine Order Telegraphs (EOTs) are used to send a signal from the bridge to the engine room with instructions about speed and direction (ahead or astern).
This salvaged brass engine order telegraph measures 43.5 inches tall. The control head has front and rear dials that are 12.5 inches wide. The base mount is about 12 inches wide and has 5 mount holes. The telegraph weighs 92.5 pounds.
The base unbolts, so the telegraph will be shipped in 2 pieces.
