Great Lakes Enterprise Ship Binnacle

This  is a Great Lakes Enterprise Ship Binnacle that was salvaged off of the famous Great Lakes Ship, The Kinsman Enterprise. The compass card measures 7 inches in diameter. The compass itself was manufactured by Ritchie and Sons out of Boston, Mass. while it was sold by the Frank Morrison & Sons out of Cleveland, Ohio.

The entire binnacle measures 48″ in height while the three base legs will take up 18″ in diameter of space. The balance lungs that extend to both sides with spheres on it measures 24″ in width. Total weight of this brass painted compass is 89.2 pounds.  The picture below shows this binnacle in use on the Enterprise.
