Authentic Brass Chadburn Ship Telegraph with Chime

This Authentic Chadburn Ship Telegraph combines functional maritime equipment with distinctive British craftsmanship. Its solid brass body gives the piece noticeable weight and presence.

A ship’s bridge used this telegraph to send operating instructions to the engine room. Commands include ahead, astern, stop, slow, half, and full.

For improved visibility, half of the commands appear in black. The remaining commands appear in red against the light-colored dial.

The brass lever moves between each marked position. Moreover, the internal mechanism still sounds a chime as the lever changes commands.

Chadburn’s Ship Telegraph Company operated from Liverpool, England. The dial also displays Belfast, Glasgow, Newcastle, and London.

A brass maker’s plaque decorates the back of the housing. It repeats the Chadburn name and these important British maritime locations.

The glass remains in excellent condition, while the dial graphics stay clear and readable. However, you may find a light scratch on the glass. The brass also shows patina and small surface marks from previous use.

The round base measures 5.25 inches in diameter. Four mounting holes allow secure placement on an appropriate surface.
