This piece of history has been accurately dated by examining its serial number and comparing it to other Ritchie compasses found on vikingcompass.com. Our research has found that the E.S. Ritchie and Sons name wasn’t used until 1920, and this compass only bears the E.S. Ritchie name. Its serial number, 36298, further supports its age and authenticity as a genuine antique piece. This compass, made by the well-respected compass manufacturer, E.S. Ritchie, is a rare and unique find for any collector or historian.

This would require a little bit of tender love and care to fully repair.
