Introducing the Kelvin And Hughes Magnetic Compass. This company was formed by a merger of two manufacturing firms of Henry Hughes & Son Ltd, London, England, and Kelvin Bottomley & Baird Ltd, Glasgow, Scotland in 1947.

The compass does gimble freely in the box with the lettering and numbers being very vibrant. You will see the name Kelvin & Hughes Ltd. and Made in Great Britain on the face of the compass. The Serial Number can be found by the S and it is 1653 J.E. This item was placed in a beautiful wood box with four round legs.

This is a great collectors piece and would look great in an office with other nautical pieces.
