This Oval Stud-link Anchor Chain, Two Links, is salvaged from a ship’s anchor.  The chains that are used to secure a ship’s anchor differ vastly depending on the size of the ship. While this is a fairly large chain link, we have seen some that are easily twice as big!.

The oldest and simplest type of chain is coil chain. This is a piece of stud-link chain which is a variant of coil chain. The stud-Link chain has a bar or stud inside the width. Stud-links chains are preferred for anchor use. This is due to the fact the studs add weight and prevent kinking and deforming.
