We started out with a common ceiling mounted cast brass nautical light and made it into this classy looking pendant light ready to hang with 2 1/2 feet of brass chain. We added the 8 inch copper deflector cover to greatly change the look. The light measures about 13 inches long, from the tip of the handle to the bottom of the cage. It weighs about 7 pounds. Originally this light had a steel conduit pipe attached to the side to supply the electrical power. We removed the conduit and plugged the hole with a threaded brass cap.
We then added the brass handle at the top of the nautical pendant light with copper deflector cover to polish it all off. All the old wiring and bulb holder was removed and new UL-Listed parts were re-installed that are rated to work with any voltage under 250 volts. The new bulb holder takes an Edison base bulb of 75 watts or less. To access the bulb, spin off the brass cage and the undamaged glass globe.
This brass hanging light with copper deflector cap will be shipped with 2 1/2 feet of chain and wire, but you will need to supply the means to attach to your ceiling.
We have 5 pieces like this in stock; however these pieces are not identical and there may be some variation between pieces.

This original nautical ceiling light with brass deflector cover will extend down from the mount surface by about 9 inches. To access the bulb, you spin off the brass cage and the glass globe. The top of the nautical ceiling light with brass deflector cover has three mounting legs. The cover is removable.
The new bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb of 75 watts or less. We drilled an exit hole on the top of the light that allows the wiring to not be seen after installation. The new wiring will work with any voltage under 250 volts. The two conduit holes on the front of the light have had brass plugs installed.

This creation shows our ability to recover, salvage, and rebuild vintage nautical lights. This pendant light started out with a 1950’s vintage cast brass nautical light that was made by Russell and Stoll in the mid 1950’s. The green and white porcelain cover on this pendant light originally had some sort of cast aluminum housing and hung directly from a ship as a galley light. The bracket of this pendant light that is used to attach the chain was custom cast for us from broken nautical lights that were no longer useable.
This custom built cast brass pendant light is 18 inches tall (not counting the chain) and the green and white porcelain cover is 18 inches wide. It comes with 3 feet of chain, but more can be ordered if needed. To access the bulb, the cage and globe thread off as one piece. The green and white porcelain cover is held in place by the cage threaded back in place. The porcelain cover will have some chipping like the photos show.
This light has been completely rewired with UL-Listed parts made by Westinghouse Electric. The bulb socket takes a normal screw in house bulb of 100 watts or less. The wiring is rated for any voltage under 250 volts. We have also installed a copper ground wire.
Total weight including three feet of chain is just about 30 pounds. The weight is mostly the cast brass light that we started with.
Several pieces in stock.
