Description

This copper nautical ship’s lantern came off a working vessel and shows heavy patina across its solid copper body from long-term marine use. Originally, crews used this style of lantern as an anchor light — a 360-degree white signal that marks a vessel at anchor during low visibility or nighttime conditions.

You can see “ANCHOR” stamped into the lid, which clearly points to its original role aboard ship. Around the body, a clear Fresnel lens provides full 360° visibility. While the lens shows light surface wear from use, it remains intact.

We have wired this lantern for use, so you can put it into service right away. To access the interior, simply unscrew the top knob and lift the lid. The bottom stays open, just as these lights were originally built.

In terms of condition, the copper shows consistent wear throughout. Notably, one area along the lower section feels rough and more worn than the rest. However, this kind of wear lines up with its time at sea and reflects its history as a working piece.

You can hang the lantern using the built-in handle, or instead, place it on a flat surface. Because of its size and design, it works well as a functional light or display piece in coastal, industrial, or maritime-inspired spaces.
