Vintage Galvanized 225 Degree Running Light

This vintage galvanized 225 degree running light likely served as a stern or masthead light aboard a working vessel. It was made in Ueckermünde, East Germany, and features stamped markings: “VEB,” “Vollkreis Nr 74907,” and “Made in GDR Deutsche Demokratische Republik.” The body is galvanized steel and houses a thick, curved Fresnel-style lens.

You’ll notice signs of wear from years at sea. The steel has surface rust, and the lens has a few chips, but no cracks. The back bracket allows easy mounting to a flat surface like a dock piling or bulkhead, keeping the light secure and visible.

We left this light unwired, so you can choose how to wire it yourself or select from one of our wiring options below. This gives you flexibility whether you’re using it for display or adding functional lighting to an outdoor space.
