Vintage Double Masthead Light – Copper & Brass

This masthead light comes from a salvaged marine fixture manufactured by Nippon Sento Co. in August 1978, as shown on the original plaque mounted on the top lid. It features a double stacked design with two Fresnel lenses set inside a copper and brass body.

Both Fresnel lenses remain intact with no cracks. However, they show surface scratches from use. A support bar runs down the center of the glass, while copper wings frame each side for added structure. Two conduit connections extend from one side of the housing. In addition, the flat back allows the light to sit flush against a wall. When placed upright, the lenses angle to the right.

The light is hardwired, so both the top and bottom bulbs operate together. Over time, the copper and brass developed a natural patina from marine exposure, which you can see across the surface. You will also notice small dents on the lid and parts of the body, consistent with its age and use.

You can mount this masthead light on a wall or place it on a shelf or table. It also works well as a wired light fixture. Because of its size and construction, it fits easily into maritime, industrial, or coastal spaces. It works in both residential and commercial settings.

Wiring:

The light includes new UL-listed components and dual sockets. The fixture is rated for use up to 250 volts. We recommend standard base LED bulbs or LED Edison bulbs so you can adjust the brightness for your space.

To access the sockets, open the top and bottom sections of the fixture. This allows you to reach each bulb socket inside the stacked light.
