Description
Vintage copper ship navigation light with a green marine lens once marked the starboard side of a vessel. Maritime navigation rules use green lights on the starboard side to help nearby ships determine direction and avoid collisions. Therefore, these lights played an important role in safe ship travel.
This lantern features a copper body with brass accents and hardware. The metal shows natural marks and light wear from service, which adds authentic maritime character. The smooth green lens spreads colored light across a wide viewing angle.
The lantern opens from the top with a brass latch, so you can access the bulb easily. It is wired with a plug for quick use with a standard outlet. In addition, six small holes remain in the top from its original marine installation. However, you can plug these holes if you plan to use the light outdoors.
Today, this navigation light works well in coastal homes, lake houses, restaurants, or maritime displays. It also fits nicely in offices, bars, and entryways that feature nautical décor.
Wiring
This light has been rewired with new UL-listed parts. It includes a ceramic socket and a grounded three-prong plug suitable for indoor/outdoor installation. The wiring supports voltages up to 250 volts. We recommend using a standard base LED bulb or an LED Edison bulb. This allows you to choose the brightness that best fits your space.
To access the socket, release the brass latch and lift the top lid.
