Vintage Copper Nautical Lantern with Clear Fresnel Lens

This Vintage Copper Nautical Lantern once served aboard working ships. Lights like this helped vessels stay visible and signal their position while traveling at sea.

The lantern features a solid copper body with brass hardware and a clear Fresnel lens. The Fresnel design spreads light efficiently while protecting the bulb inside. Over time, the copper developed natural patina and surface wear from service. As a result, these marks highlight its working history and add an authentic maritime character.

The lantern includes a hinged side door for bulb access and a carry handle on the top lid. The top is also stamped “Toplicht.” Toplicht is a well-known marine equipment supplier that specializes in traditional ship lighting.

The clear Fresnel lens shows a few minor chips, which you can see in the photos. However, the lens remains solid and functional.

Wiring

This light has been rewired with new UL-listed parts. It includes a standard socket, twisted fabric-covered wire, an inline toggle on/off switch, and a two-prong plug. The wiring supports voltages up to 250 volts.
