Salvaged Brass Nautical Light with Clear Fresnel Lens – Forcato Verona

This salvaged brass nautical light comes from the Forcato Lighting Company in Verona, Italy. Originally built for ships, it’s now rewired for use on desks or tables. The clear Fresnel lens shows small chips and pitting from past use, but it remains structurally solid.

The lamp body is made from solid brass and shows natural patina from years of service. Additionally, one knob is missing from the top lid — a small but honest reminder of its working life. The flat base sits evenly on most surfaces, making it a solid choice for desks, end tables, or display shelves. However, because it has no ground wire, it’s for indoor use only.

As a true piece of ship salvage, this light offers both character and functionality. The clear lens leaves the bulb exposed, creating a direct and simple glow. Unlike colored lenses used for navigation, this version works well in practical or decorative indoor spaces.

Wiring:

This light has been re-wired with all new UL-listed parts, including a medium base socket, and wired plug, rated for any voltage under 250 volts. We recommend using a standard base LED bulb / LED Edison bulb, which allows you to choose the bulb’s brightness to match your lighting area.
