This is an authentic Perko brass double lens navigation light, salvaged from a once working vessel. Navigation lights are an iconic item in the nautical community. Perko, formed in 1907, has been creating quality nautical products for over 100 years. Despite not being too old, this set was definitely used for some time on the sea.
Red and green sidelights are required when away from the dock between sunset and sunrise and periods of restricted visibility. This particular navigation light is a grey light. Grey is can be used like white or clear lights.
