This White Light Oil lamp was produced by the Nippon Sento company out of Japan in 1964. Nippon Sento Co.,Ltd. was founded in 1936. The Company’s line of business includes manufacturing residential lighting fixtures. They are still producing lights to this day.
This vintage oil lamp measures about 12 1/2 inches tall by about 10 inches wide. The clear glass globe is protected by a wire cage. The lamp is made of brass and glass. there is a hair line crack on the inner glass piece that covers the wick. Its total weight is 3.6 pounds.
The lamp has an oil burner with wick that has a thumb screw to move it up and down. The wick and the oil reservoir are unused. The wire cage has some light bends here and there. The brass has some patina on the base and top that can be easily polished up if desired.
To access the burner, simply turn the base of the lamp and turn with the handle until it is free and pops out.
