This Perko Green Starboard Navigation Light sat on the right side of the vessel while in use over the years. That’s because a green navigation light is required to reside on the right side of the vessel to indicate the vessel’s position to any other ship that might be in the area. A green navigation light will always indicate the ship’s starboard side (right side) while a red navigation light indicates the portside (left side) of the boat.
This light is about 15.5 inches tall while the width is 10 inches wide. The length is around 11.75 inches. There is a handle on top of the lantern for easy handling. The light weighs over 13 pounds.
This light has not currently been rewired yet. If you let us know that you’re going to be using this inside, then we can wire it with a more decorative cord. If you let us know that this is going to be going outside, then we can wire it with a weather resistant cord.
Big Ship Salvage scours the world for nautical antique lights, décor and other items related to the Nautical Life. Brass, copper, stainless steel and sometimes aluminum materials are used to make-up the vintage lights that we find. We soda-blast the old paint off, remove the old wiring and polish before they arrive in our warehouse. Then, we rewire with UL listed bulb sockets and wiring harnesses and get ready for purchase. They are now ready to warm your home, business or restaurant with that nautical feeling we all desire.
