Here is an impressive Hiram L. Piper Co. Montreal Towing Double Fresnel Marine Navigation Light. The light stands about 25 inches tall and measures about 14 inches wide. It weighs about 30 pounds.
This marine navigation light is made of copper and has brass trim. There are two fresnel globes, and they are made of 3/4 inch thick glass. The globes are all in good condition with just some minor edge flaking – no cracks or holes.
The copper housing of each light will have some dents and dings as they are real lights recovered from a salvage yard operation. The top Of the light has a plate that is marked “Towing”. Under the support bracket along the front is marked “H. L. Piper Montreal” The Hiram L. Piper Co. Ltd. of Montreal was eztablished in 1902. They primarily Manufactured railway lanterns for the Canadian National Railway, but also produced marine lanterns as well.
We have re-wired all This Navigation light with all new UL-Listed wiring and two new bulb holders. The new sockets are rated to work with any voltage under 250 volts. The bulb holders uses a medium base bulb of 75 watts or less.
