This is a 225 Degree Copper Clear Fresnel Lens Navigation Light! Navigation lights alert other vessels of your positioning. The red indicates the port side of a boat. The green light indicates the starboard side. The white is seen from all angles typically mounted on the stern. They are required when away from the dock between sunset and sunrise and periods of restricted visibility. This particular navigation light is a 225-degree masthead light.
The lid has a unique locking mechanism – a bar with a handle extends over the lid and then a screw fastens into the other side. You can easily twist the thumbscrew to access the inside. There are slight chips on the clear Fresnel lens due to years on the sea but, overall it’s in good condition.
