This 1930s Salvaged William McGeoch Vintage Brass Lantern is a rare find! This vintage lantern was produced by William McGeoch & Co. Makers, A Glasgow-based company, which was founded in 1832. Starting as a brass founders company, they evolved into the, then new, market for electric lighting. They had showrooms in Glasgow, Birmingham, and London.
This lantern is primarily made of brass, with some aluminum in the interior. The Fresnel lens is in good condition, there are chips and, wear and tear due to many years on the sea (Chips shown in photos). The front and interior brass plate read: “William Mc Geoch & Co. Makers, Glasgow and London”. The back of the lantern reads: “Wm McGeoch &CoLTD 1931″ and ” Patt 4116″
