Uruguay Ship Flag

This Uruguay Ship Flag came from a vessel headed for scrapping. We left the flag exactly as we found it, so it still shows the wear and character gained during years at sea. Additionally, we have not washed the fabric, which helps preserve its authentic shipboard appearance.

Uruguay adopted this flag in 1830. Its design draws inspiration from both the American Stars and Stripes and the flag of neighboring Argentina. The nine blue stripes represent Uruguay’s original departments. Meanwhile, the Sun of May in the canton symbolizes freedom, independence, and the birth of the nation.
