This letter “L” Lima nautical signal flag was removed from a vessel being cut up for scrap. This flag is exactly like it was when it was found, it has not been washed.

L: Lima – In harbor: “The ship is quarantined”. At sea: “You should stop your vessel instantly.”

On the flag-pole side of the flag, there is a small brass hook, and on the opposite corner, there is a short section of rope with a small brass hook.
