This Japan Ships flag was removed from a vessel being cut up for scrap. This flag is exactly like it was when it was found, it has not been washed.

The white color is a symbol of the integrity and honesty of the people, while the red sun disc is a representation of Amaterasu, the sun goddess. . Tradition and history books claim she founded Japan and that emperors descend from her.

This flag would look great in someone’s dorm room!   You can hang this up anywhere to go along with your other nautical décor.
