We polished up this vintage standard bronze rudder to reveal its natural luster. Rudders are a vessels primary steering unit. There are multiple types of rudders, out board and inboard. This is an outboard, sternpost-mounted, rudder. Which would have been positioned behind the propeller.
The shaft on the is bronze rudder is 10 1/2 inches long with a diameter of 1 1/4 inches. The rudder is 13 1/2 inches long by 10 3/4 wide. At it widest point it is 1 1/2 inches. There is a pin hole located at the top and a grove down the back side for easy installation.
You will see some minor ware and tare due to being salvaged from an actual vessel.
