Description
This Vintage Ship Door with Porthole came from a working vessel and served as an emergency exit door aboard ship. At sea, crews used doors like this to mark escape routes where strength and reliability were essential.
The door features solid wood construction with vertical planks and a 12.75-inch brass-rimmed porthole window set into the upper section. The glass remains intact and provides a clear view through the door. Both sides still display their original emergency signage. One side reads “Emergency Exit,” while the reverse reads “Emergency exit door, do not obstruct.” These signs confirm the door’s original use aboard the vessel.
* No hinges, knobs, or mounting hardware are included, allowing buyers to install hardware that fits their project.
Today, this ship door with a porthole works well in coastal homes, restaurants, nautical bars, maritime displays, or custom architectural projects.
