You are looking at a vintage nickel over brass Samson post, or Sampson as it’s sometimes spelled. It is different than our other offering as it has an opening on one side which you can run a line through before securing it to the post. This post has a weathered look and some of the nickel is peeling off.

You could use this item for a bookend or even a paperweight for your office.  Just another unique piece to add to your nautical collection!
