Description
This vintage mining lamp shows heavy use from its time in early industrial work. It features a brass construction built for coal mining environments, and it carries a dark, aged patina across the entire surface. Overall, the wear reflects long-term, practical use rather than decorative handling.
The front badge reads “Ferndale Coal & Mining Co.” This name most often appears on vintage brass and copper miner’s safety lamps produced in the United Kingdom. In addition, Ferndale is a known mining town in South Wales, a region with a long history of coal production.
The brass body has visible cracking, and it shows consistent surface wear from repeated handling. The glass is in poor condition, with heavy clouding and damage. At the same time, the original oil chamber remains inside, which shows the lamp has not been converted or modified.
This piece remains in its original, unrestored condition. Because of this, it shows honest wear from real use. The hanging hook is still attached, so you can display it as-is.
Features:
- Original brass construction with heavy patina
- Marked “Ferndale Coal & Mining Co.” badge
- Internal oil chamber still present
- Visible wear including cracked brass and damaged glass
This vintage mining lamp works well in industrial collections, mining displays, or salvaged lighting setups.
