Description
Simpson Electric Company in Chicago, IL built this vintage microamperes meter. It features a solid brass housing and a DC gauge that measures 0–100 microamperes. The front label—“MR35W1000DCUA MODEL 25”—suggests it came from a naval or industrial electrical panel.
Due to its rugged build, this meter likely served in harsh environments, including military or marine settings. One end houses the microamperes gauge. The other includes two mechanical dials. One is labeled “FREQUENCY” with a 0–10 scale, while the second dial runs from 0–36.
Together, these elements suggest the meter was part of a signal feedback or control system. It may have worked alongside radar, communications, or generator equipment. Additionally, the solid brass D-ring and mounting points show it was built for tough, on-site use.
We have not tested this item. However, it offers great value for collectors of military salvage, vintage electronics, or industrial instruments.
