The Star Finder is a tool to help find stars and signs of the zodiac in the night sky. It helps with the pre-settings for a sextant when measuring the altitude of a certain star. It also helps with watching the movements of the stars.

On this item you will see the company name on one of the legs. You will also see the astronomical names on the ball as well. In one photo you will see where there is a rip in the Star Finder. This is placed in a wood box with a handle.  The box has some wood chipped off of but it still closes tightly.
