You are looking at the Vintage Cleveland/Buffalo Steamship Brass Luggage Tags. The CLEVELAND & BUFFALO TRANSIT CO.(C&B), was a popular steamship line that started in 1885.
These brass tags, we believe were in the intense fire of the “City of Buffalo” Steamship in 1938. You will see the leftover carbon residue on the back of each tag. On most of the tags you will see this: The Property Of The Cleveland & Buffalo Transit Company Cleveland, Ohio- Please Return To This CO. Soon As Possible. But, on others: To Be Returned To General Baggage Agent, C. & B. T. CO. Cleveland, Ohio.
