Vintage Brass Marine Barometer by Sestrel – 8″ England

This vintage brass marine barometer by Sestrel comes from England and was likely produced by Henry Browne & Son Ltd. It features a solid brass case and a clearly laid-out dial. The face displays pressure readings in both millibars and millimetres of mercury, making it easy to read at a glance.

Originally, mariners used barometers like this one to monitor atmospheric pressure and track weather changes at sea. Today, this piece works well as a display item in a home, office, or nautical setting.

The brass case shows a natural patina from age and use, which gives it an authentic look. However, the glass remains clear and free of cracks or scratches. In addition, the face still shows strong, readable lettering, including the “Sestrel” name and “Made in England” marking.

This barometer measures 8 inches in diameter, so it has a solid presence without taking up too much space. You can mount it on the wall using the existing case design.
