Description

This vintage brass aneroid barometer combines practical shipboard design with classic nautical styling. It features a solid brass housing that delivers a traditional marine appearance.

During testing, we used the ziplock bag method to check responsiveness. As pressure changed, the needle moved as expected. Therefore, the barometer shows active response to pressure shifts.

Additionally, the built-in thermometer remains functional and reads in Celsius. This feature adds everyday usefulness alongside its display value.

The dial is marked “Takahashi Osaka” and dated 1973. As a result, it reflects Japanese marine instrument manufacturing from the early 1970s. Its compact size allows easy placement on a desk, shelf, or wall.

Moreover, this barometer pairs well with vintage ship clocks for a cohesive nautical display. It suits collectors, maritime interiors, and classic coastal spaces.

Features:

  • Responsive aneroid barometer verified by zip lock bag pressure test
  • Solid brass housing with visible age and surface wear
  • Functional Celsius thermometer for temperature reference
  • Marked “Takahashi Osaka” and dated 1973

Testing Method:

To test movement, we sealed the barometer inside an inflated plastic bag. When pressure increased, the needle rose accordingly.
