This large vintage teak grate is in beautiful condition. It was salvaged off a once working vessel. Teak is used in nautical applications due to teak being naturally resistant to most rots, fungi and pests that usually attack wood.
The great measures 31 1/4 inches wide by 39 1/4 inches long by 1 1/4 inches thick. It weights 31 pounds. It has been left in as in condition, The patina from years of use has not been removed. It would be a beautiful piece to be restored or left with the patina. There is one corner with some chipping and cracking shown in the photos, as well as the other 3 undamaged corners. The back side has six 2 inch circles to keep the grate slightly raised form damage.
These grates have been repurposed for many things. Most common are coffee and side tables. Converting this grate into a table would a simple project with the addition of some legs. These also make perfect in/outdoor or wet flooring area mats, such as pool side or bathroom areas.
