Product Description

PK-13 is a set of two antique ship keys from the famous Kinsman Independent ship, owned by George Steinbrenner, the owner of the New York Yankees. This key bears the original name of the vessel, the Richard V. Lindabury. This is a solid metal antique key, and was used to access the radiotelephones on the ship.

This key is potentially as old as 1923! The absolute youngest this key could be is from 1967, because that year they renamed the ship to be “United States Steel Great Lakes Fleet”. The name changed a final time in 1978 when it was named “The Kinsman Independent”.

More history on the ship can be found on this website: https://www.greatlakesvesselhistory.com/histories-by-name/l/lindabury-richard-v
