This is a Heavy Stainless Steel Samson Post. It was salvaged from a once-working vessel that was being torn apart for scraps. Due to this, they will show varying levels of weather such as minor dents and scratches.

A Samson post is a strong pillar fixed to a ship’s deck to act as a support for tackle or other equipment. It can also be used in securing a cable (as the anchor cable).

This cleat is still perfect for its original purpose, securing vessels, but it would also make a great coastal or nautical decoration.
