Product Description:

This is an Antique SS Harvey Brown Ship’s Wheel – full of Great Lakes History. In 1927, The S.S. Harvey Brown was finally broken up for salvage. Tradition states that the last captain of the ship is entitled to take the ship’s wheel when a ship is being salvaged. The captain at that time was a man named R.D. Ryan. The Ryan family kept it in their possession for over 90 years, leaving it on a working helm outside for the children to spin about and play with. After much consideration, they decided to reach out to our business and inquire if we were interested in purchasing the wheel. We thought that our site visitors/customers would enjoy the Great Lakes history so we obliged!
