Antique 3 Hole Deadeye – Salvaged Great Lakes Maritime Rigging Block
Description
This antique 3 hole deadeye was salvaged during a Great Lakes diving mission. Once part of a ship’s standing rigging, it served as a key tensioning device for ropes aboard sailing vessels.
Measuring 5 inches in diameter, this solid wood deadeye is dark brown with a weathered surface. The wood has aged beautifully, developing a rich, natural patina. The three holes remain well-defined, ideal for threading rope if used in display.
