This Antique 1908 Waltham Watch Co. Chronometer With Nesting Boxes is a true piece of American history! This brass clock was manufactured by the Waltham Watch Co., Waltham, Mass in 1908. The Walton Watch co. dates back to 1850.
This vintage clock is made up of solid brass. It is a stem wind and set. It sits in a two-tier wooden box, on a gimbaled brass bowl, within a brass-bound. The top tier has a glass pane in it for viewing, while the bottom opens for winding and adjusting. The face features “Waltham Watch Co. on the top center, steel blue hour and minutes hands, a seconds dial, and a wind indicator that turns red when it needs to be wound.
The thick beveled glass is in excellent condition. The housing on the front and back of the clock and be removed by tuning. Inscribed on the back of the clock are “Waltham Watch Co.”, “8 Days”, “15 Jewels”, “Adjusted”, and the serial number “17406817 (dating the chronometer to 1908).
This chronometer is being sold in as-is condition. It seems to be in proper working condition – but has not been serviced by a professional.
