Aluminum Ship Anemometer with Propeller and Pedestal

This ship anemometer wind speed transmitter was designed to measure wind speed aboard a vessel. The propeller responds to moving air, while the main assembly rotates freely to follow wind direction.

The anemometer has an aluminum body with a grayish-blue painted tail and rear section. Some paint has chipped from previous use, while the exposed aluminum shows additional surface wear.

A 13.25-inch propeller sits at the front and spins freely. The main body also rotates freely on its pedestal, allowing the unit to move with changing wind direction.

A brass identification plaque remains screwed to one side of the pedestal. It identifies the unit as an anemometer transmitter and includes its original technical information.

The anemometer measures 28 inches long and stands 30 inches tall. At 18.5 pounds, it has substantial size without being excessively heavy.

The 6.25-inch round base includes five mounting holes. This allows the piece to be securely mounted for display.
