Product Description

This is a Vintage German Electrical Amperemeter And Voltmeter that we received for a nautical collector. The first known use of voltmeter was in 1869 and the first known use of a amperemeter was in 1882.

An ammeter (abbreviation of Ampere meter) is an instrument used to measure the current in a circuit. Ammeters are used to detect problems in electrical circuits for an example- unusually high or low levels of current.

Voltmeters are used for measuring the potential difference, or voltage, between two points in an electrical or electronic circuit.

The Amperemeter and the voltmeter are in a wooden box which has a small button on the side of the box (shown in photo) that you push in to open the front. On the Ammeter you will see the words AMPEREMETER and Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft – (German for General electricity)  which was a German producer of electrical equipment founded in 1883 in Berlin, Germany. On the Volmeter you will find the same writing as the Ammeter.

The working condition is unknown.
