This is a Great Lakes Salvaged De Laval Steam Turbine Vacuum Gauge produced in the early 1900s. This was manufactured by the De Laval Steam Turbine Company. in Trenton, New Jersey.
The invention of a pressure gauge that could monitor high pressure decreased the number of steam engine accidents.
The dial reads “DE LAVAL STEAM TURBINE CO.”, “TRENTON, N.J.”, “VACUUM”, “The Ashcroft MFG Co. New York” and logo.
There is a small chip missing on the back of the gauge. It has been photographed several times so that you are aware. IT DOES NOT AFFECT THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE ITEM.
