This is a Great Lakes Salvaged Brass Pressure Gauge that was owned by a private collector for years. It was on display in a maritime museum for a short time as well. Representative of the times, this all brass pressure gauge is a beautiful piece. The cork ring has shrunk over time and slightly displays itself around the ring.
The invention of a pressure gauge that could monitor high pressure decreased the number of steam engine accidents.
